Yes, yes to all your writer-tested advice. My latest discovery: While I’m envying those who seem to radiate success, there are others who envy me, even on a feckless day. This is true for most of us and keeps things in perspective.
Thank you for clarifying and getting this in order for me (again). These thoughts are always cycling, agitating, rinsing, wringing, and draining in the background....I find hanging the laundry out in the desert sun very grounding and therapeutic. I’ll add your suggestion and hang up some encouraging feedback on the wall. Thanks...
Thanks so much for writing and sharing this Brooke. Another thing that helps to ease my suffering is to remember, as it says in the ancient Hindu sacred text, The Bhagavad Gita, to "Focus your mind on action alone, but never on the fruits of your actions. Do not consider thyself the creator of the fruits of thy activities; neither allow thyself attachment to inactivity."
I get to practice this: show up, pay attention, tell the truth, and be open to but detached from outcomes.
I am loving these essays. Keep them coming!
Read this twice now and loved it both times. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for reading—twice!!
Love this. Yes, only way is through! And how you can never do enough. Thank you!
All of this and more!
